DIY Lace Ruffle Scarf

DIY Lace Ruffle Scarf

alright, this is an excessively easy scarf to make, and all you basically need is some sort of lace trim 5 inches wide, and two pieces of that to make it a wider scarf You want 6 feet lengths of pieces of lace trim, and you’ll want fabric that is 6 feet long and about 6-7 inches wide and you also need some… elastic and this is about one-eighth inch wide elastic so it’s pretty skinny So the first step is to simply lay this over, if you have trim like this, if you’re using lace, you can just cut is and then you just sew with thread all the way down there take your fabric, and it should be as wide as however much lace you want to have show and for me I wanted the fancy part to show and this should meet this edge just that for you to see better i’m showing it this way so when these pieces are sewn together all that you would do is you would have this flipped over, and if you pretend that this is sewn together , and if you know how to sew elastic in, you just sew this along that line with both of these fabrics put together, as the elastic is stretched out so here, I will show you what the actual scarf looks like the scarf is kind of wrinkly because it ends up getting really elasticized and stretchy and here’s the fabric that’s sewn together and then on top of that is the elastic running through the scarf and so just sew the elastic and stretch it out as you are sewing it and this is the fabric in the front and as you are sewing the elastic in, you will want your thread color to be different than your bobbin color, because you bobbin color should match the fabric that is right here, and then your thread color should match whatever thread color your lace is which is white, so when I did my bobbin was this peach, sort of pink color and my thread in the machine was white thread and that way, just in case, the scarf will look professional You would have the pink thread match the pink fabric instead of being white in the middle just so this together along here and then just put the fabric you want over it, meeting the edge, fabric should be 6 feet and then all you do is sew on some elastic along here , as it’s stretched out and that’s it, it’s done! It’s that easy.
