Stenciling Easter Cookies with Royal Icing


To stencil with royal icing you will need a tapered baker’s spatula Hold your stencil flat to the cookie and spread a bit of icing through the stencil in a few passes Scrape off excess icing and wipe your spatula clean with a damp cloth Spread your icing through the stencil in as few scrapes as possible Once the icing is spread smooth and flat, lift the the stencil offthe cookie For larger stencils, spread the your royal icing flat while keeping the stencil in place with your other hand Once the icing is spread smooth through the stencil, lift it off the surface of the cookie Wipe icing off the spatula and clean up the excess from the edges of the cookie
