Trying Plus Size Clothes at Target | In the Dressing Room | Musings of a Fox

Bonjour tout le monde and welcome to Musings of a Fox. I was in my local target recently looking for a whole new ornament color scheme and I saw a bunch of goodies that I couldn’t help but try on, so here’s an in
the Target dressing room. So this is my first time in a Target dressing room.
Please don’t mind the homemade self knitted socks that are going to go with
every outfit so beautifully. For the first outfit, I picked a pair of what I
did not quite realized were jeggings in a size 18. They’re a bit snug, definitely
kind of like Torrid where they just like grip on every bit of you. Um kind muffin topping, definitely happening. Um I grabbed a shirt in a 1x cuz I had
no idea what I was doing, I love the color but I definitely would size up in
it. The cardigan though is super cute and super soft a great Fall pick. I actually
really kinda like myself in white. I didn’t think I would, but it looks very fall
into winter so just a good all-around staple super cute. But for the rest of
this outfit, I definitely needed to size up. For the next outfit I tried on the
skinny jeans from Target in the size 18 and the same shirt as the green one
previously but this time in the 2x and in burgundy with a chenille cardigan and
I like the fit of this a lot more. My socks actually kinda go with it this
time. The pants are really nice and high waisted so they kind of nip you in if
that’s what you’re into and the cardigan just kind of lays a bit better being
that it hugs so it doesn’t have the same kind of bunching that a
lightweight cardigan like a previous one could have. The shirt definitely lays a
bit better, since I’m someone who doesn’t have a flat stomach I can see how some
may not be into this type of top that doesn’t entirely hide the geography of
your body but that’s not my style I don’t really care about the geography (/topography) of
my body, this shirt was just so comfy that I really couldn’t resist it. The
pants are super cute I really obviously enjoyed them and for 30 bucks
that’s not a bad deal for a sturdy pair of jeans and so yeah I felt
cute definitely. I can wear it to the office and definitely a fall and winter
kind of outfit but also there’s elements you can definitely bring into a spring
and summer as well. Next I decided to switch into some festive wear and the
first one up was a bit confusing and it looked so cute on the rack and I really
do enjoy the color and the little like kind of piped sleeve. I appreciate the
roomy arm hole for sure but it’s the rest of the dress, like the length just feels
kind of wrong on my body. It was just a bit of a sack dress in a 2x I guess it
could have sized down but then I felt like it would have been like a midi
dress and I just feel like maybe with a belt it could be really cute. But as is
it just reminded me of the kind of dresses that my dad preferred I wore
when I was a developing girl to hide the fact that I had any sort of curve to my
body. It’s just not the dress for me. One of my favorite things about doing Try on
hauls is trying things that are totally out of my comfort zone, like this velour
jumpsuit thing. I don’t know what it was but I had to try it on and I’m honestly
not mad at it. It’s a little bit not totally my style but it was so fun to play
dress-up in. I didn’t mind all the body hugging. I did size up to this in
a 3x and I’m still disappointed with how short it was on me but the 2x was a bit
of a nightmare. Yeah, I wasn’t thrilled. But this jumpsuit is just a really great
base to some really fun kind of New Year’s or Christmas party outfit. There are
so many ways you could jazz it up. It did kind of go low in the armpit so a bra
might show just heads-up on that. It did not do anything for my lack of tush, but if
you have a great butt then, you know, this will really *laughter* this will really make it
sing. It is a thin material so watch out for panty lines. It’s possible I’m having
a bit of “not buyer’s” remorse, I did pass for now on this dress and now that I
watch this footage, I’m kind of regretting it. It was such an unexpected dress, I
honestly didn’t expect it to fit in the 2x because it is a non-stretch dress,
there is no stretch to this material and because I have very broad shoulders, it’s
hard for me to find materials that are non stretch that in my size don’t make
me feel like 10 pounds of potatoes in a one pound bag or then
feel kind of moomooish on me. I really loved that it didn’t gap at the boobs. I was
wearing one of my bigger bras so if I wore a little bit more of a minimizing
bra there wouldn’t be quite the same taughtness across the chest. But even still I
didn’t feel like I was about to burst out like the Hulk. It was just a really
pretty kind of late fall/early winter dress and like yeah you can see it on my
face but I really loved myself in it and I’m kind of mad at myself for not
grabbing it but hopefully it’s still there and you guys don’t sell it out for
me. Okay this top is in no way plus-sized friendly I just wanted to show it to you
it only goes up to an extra-large but it was so cute, it fit and I was singing
Frosty the Snowman to myself and having the time of my frickin life. I’m
so sorry if you’re new here and have no idea how weird I am but I could not
resist a try on video in the middle of like pre Christmas time and not try on
this ridiculous onesie and a light-up blazer Um the 2X of this blazer did not
really love my shoulders, but it fit enough to just show you this absurd
outfit. The onesie I was shocked how comfortable it actually fit in the 2x.
It definitely is very low-cut because obviously my bra totally showed but I
friggin loved it and I’m low key thinking about going back for it. Thank you guys
for joining me for this in the Target dressing room. Let me know in the
comments below which brand you guys would like me to creep in next. As always
I will see you guys next time bye!
